WESTERN WYOMING PLANNING AREA

PROJECT SCHEDULE

The following is a summary of key meetings and reports associated with the multi-jurisdictional Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Plan for Sublette, Lincoln, Uinta, and Teton Counties. The planning members of the Western Wyoming Planning Area extend an open invitation to anyone who is interested in this project, and encourage them to attend the events identified below.

August 1, 2007 Letter of Intent – Provide notification that Sublette, Teton, Lincoln, and Uinta County Commissions passed resolutions in support of preparing a multi-jurisdictional ISWM Plan.
   
August 14, 2007 Project Kick-Off Meeting – Review solid waste issues in Wyoming, the ISWM planning process, the roles and responsibilities of the planning partners and stakeholders, public outreach strategies, and preliminary planning issues/objectives. 9 AM to 3 PM at the Sublette County Library, Pinedale.
   
January 2008 Local Planning Meetings – Review local planning issues and identify a list of reasonable alternatives for consideration by the regional planning group.

March 27, 2008 Regional Planning Meeting – Review profiles of existing systems and local planning issues, and identify a short list of regional alternatives for detailed analysis. 9 AM to 4 PM at the Lincoln County Library, Kemmerer.
   
May 23, 2008 Interim Reports – Issue reports for each county. Reports highlight capacity, regulatory, and financial issues at existing facilities, as well as 20-year projections of populations and waste streams.
   
October 2008 Local Planning Meetings – Review preliminary Economic Analysis of Alternatives.

December 15, 2008 Economic Analysis of Alternatives – Submit report to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Report highlights implementation issues and costs associated with regional alternatives.

Public Review and Comment Period – Solicit input on Economic Analysis of January, 2009 Alternatives Report. Comments due by January 23, 2009.
   
January 30, 2009 Regional Planning Meeting – Summarize economic analyses of alternatives, review public input, identify a preferred alternative, and discuss preliminary implementation issues. 10 AM to 4 PM at the BLM Pinedale Field Office.
   
March-April 2009 Regional Planning Meeting – Review preliminary Draft ISWM Plan. Meeting date, time, and location have not yet been identified.
   
May 1, 2009 Draft ISWM Plan - Submit Draft ISWM Plan to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Draft ISWM Plan summarizes preliminary preferred alternative and implementation strategy.
   
May 2009 Public Review and Comment Period – Solicit public input on Draft ISWM Plan
   
May-June 2009 Regional Planning Meeting – Review public input and address Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality comments on Draft ISWM Plan. Meeting date, time, and location have not yet been identified.
   
July 1, 2009 Final ISWM Plan - Submit Final ISWM Plan to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Final ISWM Plan summarizes final preferred alternative and implementation strategy.
